Vermont
We spent an extended weekend in Vermont mid-July, and it was just what I needed. Lots of beers, chats, kayaks, and more than enough relaxation. Came back feeling a little hazy about this whole "work week" stuff, but am happily back in the swing of things now.

A summer isn't complete...
without the annual family vacation to the Outer Banks. We first came down in 84' and have only missed a few years since. The vacation has come to an end and the Sunday Blues are here. One last snap to help me transition back to a life that includes work and does not include the beach.

Heart Shaped Weekend
It was a really great weekend, topped off by a little heart shaped apple slice as a midnight (at 9 pm) snack.

Moving Along
I had never run this far before. After a challenging day, it was nice to be reminded that the world is a pretty lovely place. -- D

A's Weekend In Review
I have been absent over the past month and owe a huge kudos to D for keeping things moving here. In the past month I have transitioned at work, a bit at life, but mainly I've spent time with family and friends talking.
This past weekend was a respite and a transition into spring in PA. It was a great change of pace and helped push me forward and consequently back to Ladder to the Stars. I took Friday off and spent that time with family, did a bit of bachelor party planning with a college friend and had brunch with my Aunt and Uncle. Perfect kick off to the weekend.
The one thing I did this weekend that has been on my 2013 list was geocaching. It was perfect and I am glad that I went searching for a plastic container in the woods. I won't regal you with the account of finding the container (image below) but I will say that it was a great way to see neat parts of the town I live in (image below below). It also was a great way to take in the warm weather. Geocaching involves trinkets and leaving things in the container once you find it - it was neat to see what others had left and I need to think of a trinket for myself.

D's Weekend in Review
It was a slow weekend, always welcome around here! I want to just say that the Suntegrity face sunscreen is non-greasy and won't leave your face or neck with that weird white-cast some physical sunscreens leave behind. Finally a facial sunscreen I actually like and doesn't cause breakouts. On to the photos! All from the iPhone, I didn't snap that many this weekend. Too busy drinking wine and trying to decide if I still like Game of Thrones.

D's Two Weekends
I promise that this blog isn't just becoming a series of weekend posts with photos of my dogs and some food. Well, it maybe is becoming that for a bit, but soon we'll do some recipes, some thoughts on random bits of life. For now, I think things will be a little sparse around here. April is shaping up to be another busy one, but I think A and I both miss writing here more regularly. So, keep us in your RSS reader (which one are you using now? I like Feedly, but is there another one you like more?) or keep visiting us now and again.
Included here: the past two weekends. Last weekend, I had a visit with a friend and some Easter celebrating. This weekend, I didn't feel super well on Saturday, but still went to a family wedding and spent Sunday getting groceries, doing laundry and other assorted boring housekeeping stuff. Of note: that Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie below had a pretzel crust!

Lately: D's March Edition
It's been almost a month! March was pretty full, I've attached some shots below. Andrew and I were reunited in Pennsylvania for St. Patrick's Day and it was perfect!! Otherwise, this month has been doctor visits, working a little late, massive haircut, and changing up the house a bit. I'll do some photos from this past weekend in tomorrow's post!

D's Weekend, in review
I took Friday off from work, but for various appointments with doctors and such. But, still, a three day weekend was nice! There was: a ridiculous dog haircut, pizza party, beer and music, and a few purchases of varying necessity. When your coffee grinder goes out and you're just returning to coffee after a week of doctor-commanded not drinking coffee, it's a big deal. Snaps below (a mix of Canon and iPhone)!

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer -- not at all glittery, just a nice brightener. Apply with a light hand! Clark's Botanicals Lip Tint in Rachel Red -- Moisturizing, a nice sheer pink-red. I blot away quite a bit of the shine because I'm not into that for the winter.
Dr. Alkaitis Soothing Gel -- to soothe the winter redness I have and help with some of the sensitivity the comes after months of central heating and windy walks.

Winter Favorites
| Indoor campfire |
A's Favorites:
I read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand for a most of the winter. It is a winter favorite by default since it is the only book I read for pleasure this winter.
This Michael Aram candle has been a nice reminder of christmas trees and pine garland.
This Leinenkugel beer, part of a variety pack, was a welcome addition to snowy days.
Roasted vegetables is a staple for me and a recent addition of the Herbal Garden grinder from The Spice & Tea Exchange has me ready for spring.

D's Favorites:
These candles (in Tarot Deck and Campfire) have kept our house properly wintery
Love Weird and Ravenous, their series for Bullett is my favorite

This New York Times piece, thoughts on guns, violence and poverty through a review of a hip hop record
Received this ring recently and wear it daily
Cooking lots from Very Fond of Food, it reads like a close friend is showing you her favorite recipes
Earth tu Face salt scrub and Soapwalla Body Oil have kept winter dryness away

A's Weekend, in review
After last weekend in NOLA I was glad to spend the weekend hopping from house to house visiting folks. I got to eat chocolate chocolate chip pancakes with my niece, whom I shall call MP, below.
I also got to see my nephew who is eating the valentine that MP sent to him. His newest drawing will soon be hung in my office at work. Getting to see the nieces and nephews was the highlight of the weekend. Seeing their parents is nice as well. Mainly because they feed me well.
To cap the weekend off I joined Victor Emmanuel II which is an Italian American Beneficial society in the town where I grew up. A true rite of passage. It's a restaurant and bar. The best item on the menu is the salad with cheese. Iceberg lettuce and mozzarella cheese have never tasted so good!

D's Weekend, in review
All I really want most weekends is to share some drinks with someone I love, plenty of time to nap and run and at least one meal outside. And if I can spend a little time in the kitchen, even better. This weekend had all that and a little more!

Weekend in Review, Reunited Edition
Well! It's a bit late, but who can blame us? Because this weekend was spent together! In New Orleans! We packed as much as we could into just two days, and mostly it was wonderful to see each other, catch up, giggle and let Andrew explore a bit of the city. Snaps are below, and we're going to take the rest of the week off to settle back in. Be back on Monday! -- D and A
